Urban Cycles

"Urban Cycles invites you to trigger, provoke and creatively participate
in a series of multiple video projections. A different artist each day
will provide images to interact with, buiding a unique work that re-defines
the floorscape beneath your feet. A collaboration initiated by Interspace
Sofia (Bulgaria) and artists from Manchester (UK), exploring the moving
image, interactive new media technologies and public space."
In Slippery Surface pedestrians walked across images of Victorian civic and domestic tiles, sourced in Manchester city centre. As they stepped into 'Library Walk' the stone paving appeared to shift beneath their feet, disrupting the permanence of the surrounding architecture.
