an invitation to participate in
Contemporary Cartographies Comob Network
24th November 2010
7pm until 10pm

Comob is a spatial and social mapping app for iphones. For the Contemporary Cartographies // 01 launch we will be creating a temporary comob network and need you to join us. Download and launch the app on your iphone, and share your current location with the rest of the network (see image).

The whole network will be projected live onto a large screen at The Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, for the evening. Watch as other users arrive and leave the gallery or attend the event virtually while you are physically elsewhere. Remember to launch the app on your way to the gallery so that others can see your movement through the city.

You can download a free iPhone app ‘Comob net’ from the app store.
On the settings screen use the group name “mmdc” and a username with no spaces or blanks, and email lauramansf (at) gmail.com with your username.

Please note if you use Comob your location is shared with other members of the group who can track your positioning once your application is turn on and activated.
